The English Process

This semester we had to write many texts about different things. In my opinion, this is something good because helped us to remember things that we had forgotten or for learn some things that we never knew how to say. In the other side, the write about different topics in a creative way, helped us to “change the switch”, and start to think in English, no in Spanish (language to which we are accustomed).

I don’t know if these exercises helped much in my English , but, as I said before , helped  me for remember some things and learn a few words (in this moment I don’t remember what things in specific, but really helped me).

One thing that I missed or that I think that could have been a good teach mode; it was watch a movie but only in English, without subtitles. This form in my opinion, it is an entertaining and effective way to learn.

Finally, I think that the process in general, was good but not very interactive. I think that English games or things like that, could have improved the process. But the idea about a blog, seems to me very interesting but not in excess. 

My best friends

In my life the most important for me are my friends. My most near friends since school are Filomena and María de los Ángeles. They are like sisters for me, they know everything about me.  

Filomena, is one of my best friends since 2008. I met her when I was four five years, in kinder, but we were in different courses, but in 2005 the school decided to join bouth courses. I love her so much, she is a very good friend, empathic, dependable and loyal. She studies phonoaudiology in Universidad del Desarrollo, for this reason she never have time but all weekends we try to see us.

María de los Ángeles is my friend since when we were in pre-kinder. She was my partner in school since then. We were very close but in fifth grade we move away. In 2010 we started to be friends again. She is so different to me but we are very close. She studies Psychology in USACH. She is so revolutionary, critical, objective, good friend and funny. I love her.  

The Journalism in Chile

I think the news in Chile, are in the most part, red press.  Unfortunately, just the bad things sell. I don’t know how it is in others countries, but here is in that form.  Probably, it´s for that reason that in the TV news and newspapers, rarely appears cultural reports. These, cause that the Chilean people, in general, don’t know about the culture in others countries.

But this not happened just here. In fact, I think that in many countries, in all continents, the people prefer to see bad things, instead of cultural information.   A big example is what that Chimmanda Adichie said in her speech. She told, that her roommate thought that all Africans are wild. Her roommate doesn’t understand how she speaks the English so well.

The people in general are so ignorant. I think that the journalism is the key for fix this situation, but for this, the people need to change their mind, and the big journalism companies need to take the risk, and start to contribute in that cause.

My mom

The photograph that I chose, it is very significant for me because I appear with my mom. She is so important for me, in fact, she is the most important person in the world for me.

When I was little, I always stayed with her. When we were born (my sister and I), she left her job to stay all the time with us. My dad worked all day, so my mom took care of  me  most of the time.

When I grew up, fights started to be larger than before. Every day we fought. When I was fifteen, things were very bad with my mom.  In those times, we said  very heavy things.

But, when I started to grow up and mature, I went down the revolutions, and I started to treat her in a better way to my mom.

Now, we love each other again and we have a good relation.

 

Technology

My favorite technologic thing is my mobile phone, because it lets me talk with my friend always, in all places; and keeps me informed.  Besides, my mobile phone is so smart, it is like a computer, you can use facebook, gmail, twitter, whatsapp, college page,  Youtube, PDF, Google, and internet in general.

My mobile phone is an Iphone 4, white. I have it from last year, because a school friend decided  to change her mobile phone (my actual Iphone) for bought the Iphone 5.  

But, not all things about smart phones are good.  Actually, I hate it when the people take their mobile phones and stop talking between them because they prefer their smart-phones than talk with their friends face to face. The most terrible thing, it is that I also do it.

I think the mobile phones are a vice. The most people in the world have a smart phone. This is a problem that every day worsens.

It’s true than this technology is necessary, but it is an obsession. For one side, you can use your mobile phone in emergencies like accidents, problems, etc. But in other occasions they are not necessary.

I think that smart phones are a good invention, but the people (included me) don’t know how to use it.
